ability one.Animal Communication:: Naturally nereids are able to communicate with all sea creatures, able to tell how they are feeling and what their needs are, this is particularly useful with rehabilitating animals and taking care of sea life in aquariums.
ability two.Breath of Life:: Nereids are also known to be able to ‘breathe life’ into someone who is drowning or to someone who they wish to take underwater with them and have them survive. Through a kiss they are able to breathe oxygen into other’s lungs to keep them underwater for long periods of time.
ability three.Breathing Underwater:: Unlike whales and dolphins who need to hold their breath and break the surface of the water to breathe, Nereids have gills on the sides of their neck when wet, which allow them to breathe underwater.
ability four.Swimming:: Nereids in the water are incredibly fast, like a bullet. They can swim to other kingdoms and oceans within minutes.
ability five.Tide Manipulation:: As a Nereid grows older and gains more experience, they are able to manipulate the tides. When they are young and first learn to harness this power they can create small waves, but as they grow older and more experienced, they are able to move ships, and sometimes when they reach over 1,000+ years old, they can even cause tsunamis.
ability six.Transformation:: Ability to transform from a human from head to waist with a long fishtail from the waist down. This is caused by water getting on them. Even just a drop.

personality. Much like others of her race, Kassandra is a very curious person by nature. Mostly Kass is very outgoing and bubbly. She likes to be there for those in trouble and finds making friends almost too easy. She can be a bit too trusting to a downfall; this has gotten her in some trouble with people in the past but nothing she couldn't get out of. There are few things that could get under the neried's skin; humans and people who mistreat Mother Earth. She has had a very troubled past with humans and is scared of them in a way that angers her.

headcanon one. True to the nature of her kind, Kassandra has been known to research random topics that she finds herself curious about. She keeps all her research findings in various notebooks. She will also put herself through school to learn new things if she is curious enough.
headcanon two. One thing Kassandra wants more than anything is to find a master who will take care of her; maybe even love her. Someone who will also help her achieve her goal of owning her own fashion boutique.
headcanon three. Being a nereid, Kassandra takes great pride in doing work for the environment. She has been known to clean up beaches, rivers and parks. Given her natural gift of singing, she uses her skills to also performs at various wildlife and environmental charity events.

Kassandra's childhood was as normal as any nereid child could ask for. She had a loving mother, a devoted father, and three older brothers who adored her. Their cove was hidden in the Nadi Bay of Fiji.The family had a nice start having nothing but peace and happiness for years. Kassandra was only 50 years old when everything changed for the worst. Although the family was part of a major cove of nereids, their home cove was off on its own. Minos wanted it that way to give his family their privacy while also giving them a sense of community with other nereids. There was one person close to Minos that would visit the family often, his best friend Alec.Minos trusted Alec more than anything but that trust was betrayed the night that he had been captured by humans who were out hunting nereids for their scales. To save his own skin, Alec told the humans where they could find a cove to a family of nereids with scales prettier than his. This is when he sold out Minos and his family. Not only did he tell the humans about the cove, he led them to it.Minos and Adrasteia were the first to perish as they were ambushed right away. Wanting to help their parents, Laertes went to fight the humans but was easily outnumbered. Seeing what was happening the twins, Hyacinthus and Ikaros hid Kassandra and told her not to come out until they came back for her. They never came back.It was hours before Kassandra left her hiding spot, and when she did she was met with the sight of her dead family. Their tales were bare as the scales had been ripped from their dead bodies. It was a sight that would live with her forever.

Facing the loss of her family, Kassandra could not stay in the place she had called home for so long. There were just too many memories of what had been and what happened that the nereid wanted peace. So she left to find that peace and to find a new place to call home.She decided to travel far away from the waters of her birth. And settled on living in Europe. Her first country of choice was France. Not wanting to live on land completely, she wanted to be somewhere that she could still swim on a daily basis. This is what made her decide to try Paris since there was a river that ran through the city. After just a few months, Kassandra realized the waters of Seine River were too polluted for her and she knew that Paris wasn't the home she was looking for.Leaving France, she soon settled off the coast of Plymouth, England wanting to see if she could make the English Channel her home. There she was able to find peace for a few years but it was not meant to be as she never felt the home feeling she was looking for. After leaving England, she settled down in Venice, Italy. Kass loved life in Italy, so much that she spent many years there. More so than she had anywhere else. As the years went one there was one thing she found herself missing in life, a family. Feeling like Italy wasn't the place she wanted to build a family, Kass left the country and southern Europe wanting to see if she could find her proper home in northern Europe.The now 226 year old nereid found a cove of nereids off the coast of Norway along the Norwegian Sea. It was there that she met Fredrik. The two of them formed a relationship and stayed together for years. Kassandra had thought that she had finally found what she had been searching for since the death of her family. Fate had different plans. The year of her 350th birthday, Fredrik got ill. He died from his illness months after becoming sick. Kass was once again heartbroken and forced to leave in search of a new home. This time she left Europe altogether.

While traveling to Australia, Kassandra had made a decision to do things differently in this new home of hers. Instead of living mostly in the ocean, she made her mind up to give land living a go. It would be a huge change for her, one that left the nereid feeling on edge as it meant she would be around humans more so than she already is.Not wanting to stay somewhere that was too crowded due to a major city, Kassandra decided to settle in Riordanvale. She choose this place mainly due to its connections to the ocean, providing her with a way to enjoy the ocean as that was still home to her. Plus it was not as heavily populated as other places.Kassandra enjoyed her life in here. She had made friends of other races that she had found hiding among the humans like she was. Having found a job at one of the wildlife reserves nearby she enjoyed being able to save wildlife and to help save the Heart Reef that was near the town she had settled herself in.Having found peace the nereid spent a good amount of her life in the Down Under. She enjoyed her work and enjoyed the country that she had settled in. The friends she had made, made her life even more rich. As the years ticked on however, Kassandra noticed a growing interest in her from the population. Although her friends knew she was a nereid, the humans of the town did not. It was something she had tried to keep hidden due to the trauma of her past regarding humans.Despite her attempts however, her secret had been discovered. As she had been enjoying a swim in the ocean a boat full of party goers spotted her. Her cover had been blown as they had captured video evidence of her true form. Kass knew she had to leave although the idea of moving saddened her but her safety came first. Question was, to where? She had heard nothing but bad things about the humans in America and so that left her with Asia.

Upon arriving to Japan, Kassandra made a decision that was even surprising to her. For the first time in her life she was going to live away from water, since that had been her downfall in Australia she was nervous about it happening once more. Although the island country made it hard, she was determined to live by this and settled in Showa.Now at the age of 1,085 Kassandra decides to keep more to herself as she fell into a deep depression. Everyone she had gotten close to she had lost in one way or the other. Family was dead, friends were left behind and her only love had died as well. Still needing to work however, she got into fashion and started designing clothes out of her small home in the village.Kass enjoyed village life for a few years as it was peaceful. But that changed when she was kidnapped. She had never really thought of herself as a beautiful woman, with how chaotic her life was, it was the last thing on her mind but she did stand out amongst the others of Showa. Her beauty however, did not go unnoticed by a gentleman who had been visiting the village in search of his next victim. He kidnapped Kassandra while she was on her way home from a restaurant, taking her to the city of Tokyo where she was sold into sex slavery.She endured years of sexual torture and it only made her fall into her depression more. Kass gained her freedom thanks to a master that paid high money to owned her. Once she had become owned, she was then given money and set free so that she could leave Japan and make a new life for herself.

LORE : present day .

Kassandra first arrives in Busan, South Korea. With COVID currently going on, she houses herself in a hostel until the pandemic is over. Once things are back to normal, she continues her journey to Seoul as originally planned when she left Japan.Arriving in Seoul, Kassandra settles into an apartment near the Han River. She gets back into her fashion designing, hoping to one day be able to open her own shop where she can sell her fashion lines. She also started to do environmental work again, cleaning up the Han River where needed and other projects to help clean the community. Wanting to branch out she also started singing at lounge clubs. Having always had a wonderful singing voice, Kassandra wanted to put her unused skill to some use.For awhile, she also worked at Trois as a singer. The people who worked there were like a family to her and she enjoyed her time there. Unfortunately her boss left the city and with that the club was closed. Feeling like she couldn't replace her family, Kassandra decided to retire from singing at clubs and now only uses her voice for environmental charity galas if hired. Now she is hoping to find love and start a family of her own to regain what she had lost so long ago.
